The software version can only be viewed when the display is fitted to its mount and the bicycle is stationary.

To enter the main menu, simply press and hold both the "i" and "Reset" buttons simultaneously, until the screen changes.
Scroll through the menu options using the "i" button until the Rohloff software version is displayed (example here shows = Gear v2.4.3.2).
 

Press and hold the "Reset" button for 3 seconds, in order to exit the main menu and save any change's that may have been made.

The software version can be located alongside the other component version information, under the option "Set-up / Components".
The set-up menu can be entered via the status screen.

Enter the set-up menu using the select button of the Bosch control pad.
Use the + or – buttons to select "My eBike" and then "Components" from the menu options.
Use the - button to scroll through the menu options until you reach "Software Version" (example here shows versions 2.4.3.2).
