To the north cape and back
After 22 years of a wild marriage, we married on the 18th of May in our home town Waltershausen. Only 4 days after our marriage we swang on our touring bikes to cycle to the north cape and back for our new project „Nordwärts“.
Our route led us over Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finnland and Norwegia first of all to the north cape. On the 15th of August we then reached the goal of our dreams. After 85 travel days, over 4.500 kilometers, almost 21.000 altimeters, countless beautiful moments, but a couple challenges, we had finally reached. the northernmost point in europe accessible by road by bike. An incredible feeling!
After the shiver moment, another highlight waited for us, together with the Lofoten. From the fantastic island chain, we went to Trondheim by ferry and mail ship. Here we saddled up on our bikes again and cycled over Oslo, the danish baltic coast and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern towards home.
After exactly 4 months, 6.700 kilometers, 34.000 altimeters we came back to Waltershausen on the 25th September. The travel fund was empty, but heads and hearts full of experiences and emotions. It was a fantastic trip, that we will never forget.
