Tanja Ruppert on Third Place

At the Sauerland Marathon in Grafschaft/Germany the female athletes of the Team womenscareer (FRM-Rohloff and Bicycleshop Gudensberg - Vital In) gained places 3 and 5 in the half marathon distance.

In the morning the participants started in "optimal" rainy weather and sunshine with temperatures around 19°C, simultaneously on the three offered distances: 45, 65 and 115 km. Tanja Ruppert (RSC-Niedenstein) who had originally planned to ride the long distance of 115 km, had to admit during the race that it didn't run in an optimal way for her. So she, like some of the top female riders as well, made her decision in favor of the 65 km race track. Here she took a sprint short before the finishing line to gain a place on the podium: Place 3 behind Sandra Gockert and Anna Baylis Scheiderbauer. Birgit Jüngst, however, worked out the race more smoothly and finished the half marathon with a nice 5th place.
