The splined sprocket system enables consumers the ability to quickly and easily re-place/flip worn SPEEDHUB sprockets without the need for special tools. All existing customers need to do is purchase the special splined carrier and corresponding sprocket when their ex-isting sprocket wears out. After which, they need only purchase the cheaper splined sprocket. All retrofit SPEEDHUBs currently shipped from the Rohloff AG will be supplied pre-fitted with the splined carrier. Original threaded sprockets will only remain available while current stocks last.

Please order Art.#8540 (splined carrier) when converting to this sprocket, from an original threaded sprocket version.

A primary transmission factor of 3.0 or more is required, when using either the 13t or 14t sprockets. This is necessary to protect against damage and personal injury caused by overloading of these components. This limitation is valid for all areas of application.
13t Sprocket = smallest permissible chainring of 40 teeth
14t Sprocket = smallest permissible chainring of 42 teeth
