2nd Run of the "Chevrolet MTB-Hessencup 2006"

At the 11th June 2006 the 2nd run of the "Chevrolet MTB-Hessencup 2006" took place in Melsungen (Germany).

The team "Bikes in Motion" was starting with Henry, Simon, Elisa and Marc.

The slalom and the cross-country tracks have been marked out a bit harder compared to the year before, and the far more than 100 participants were enthusiastic about this new race track. At the trial and slalom competition all team riders were fantastically on their way. In the cross-country race Henry first had to start in the u11. As being by far the youngest promotion side of this class he had difficulties to follow the two in front. In the total classification he gained a grand 3rd place. After that Simon started in the u13 race. He had already won both the trail and the slalom race and was able to take this race a bit easier. In the first two laps he remained at place 8 and fought his way further on to reach a 3rd place at the end of the six laps.

This meant the first win for Simon in a MTB race.

Elisa had bad luck at the start with the Schoolboys and -girls, because there were not a sufficient number of girls registered. Nevertheless, she showed even struck with a cold what was in her and gained 3. place in the boy's starting field. With this achievement she could easily have won 1st place in the u17/u19 starter field of the women's class. Marc Schröder showed in the youth class a great performance and gained 9th place. Unfortunately, he has footed once in the trial, which otherwise would have meant 3rd place for him.

On Thursday 15th June 2006 they are off to Graz, where the World Cup #2 takes place at the weekend.
