This next instalment of the Robohorse (Pia Leong and Jimmy Purtill) expedition starts in Melipeuco following the starting stage of a bikepacking trail (found online). The trail lead them through a burnt-out forest, through a rich wonderful tapestry of Fall colors and then on past giant 1000 year old trees.

Robohorse were met by friendly natives who had made an old abandoned house their home. Both Pia and Jimmy were welcomed by the natives and the friendly, warm welcome they received quickly swayed Robohorse to stay with the natives a while in the beautiful village of Lonquimay.

Winter started to show its face and as the snow came. We were not to be discouraged however and the decision was made to keep going and try to traverse the mountains before the snow got too deep.
