IXS Downhill Cup de Swiss #1 Scuol 2006

The start of the IXS DH Cup in Switzerland showed itself from its best side according to the weather conditions, in contrary to the 1st run in Ilmenau (Germany).

The track in Scuol, anyway one of the hardest and most demanding race tracks, has been made a bit more speedy and the finishing slope was very jump-lasting with its three jumps in a row, which had a real size. Whether something like this makes any sense or really has to be, is free to discuss ...

With the women Miriam Ruchti and Silja Stadler (both IXS Team) were partaking. Both had not chosen their best weekend and took only 3rd and 4th places, but hoped to gain more.

With the men Marcel like Nick Beer (both IXS Team) were convincing and gained 5th and 8th places after performing good runs. In the Masters category Marcel Waldmann (IXS Team) was speeding too, and took a very good 2nd place, Carsten Geck (Rohloff) fought with exhaustion as a result of the training the other day and gained 7th place.

It was noticible many riders have done just well or left the race completely which was significant for the track's quality. Its length, too, was considerable and for many rides a real challenge.
