A pilgrim's prayer on the Way of St. James in Spain

The Cruz de Ferro(Spanish: Cruz de Hierro, German: Eisenkreuz, English: Iron Cross) is a small cross made of iron placed on a stake of wood in the Montes de León (Mountains of León), which marks with 1500m above sea level the highest peak of the Way of St. James in Spain. The cross sticks out of a huge pile of stones brought together by pilgrims over ages, growing steadily. For many a bicycle rider this cross is a popular stage halt. On the stake pilgrims usually are leaving messages or notes with their wishes on their journey.

As it happens to be, Maximilian Greeve Rapsport Krüger has found on his latest tour to the cross a Rohloff Sticker on the stake. What exactly the one had in mind, whoever left the sticker there, or made his wish for, we can't tell. But maybe he/she wanted to give thanks for a safe journey so far.

The Rohloff AG wishes you a Merry Christmas and good luck on all your ways in the year 2007!
