The Tandem Ramble
We are Benjamin Nerding and Marta Sobczak, a Polish-German couple.
Ben has been hitchhiking, walking and cycling non-stop around the world since February 2011 and has travelled up to the present to 64 countries. Marta also is a well travelled women with 60 visited countries and many years of being on the road.
We have met in the middle east in May 2014. Since then we have been travelling together, shared big and small dreams, lived great moments and faced troubles together. We laugh loud and argue loud, we cry, smile, party and have fun together each day. In the fall 2017 we set off to travel across the Atlantic to South America. Our plan is to cycle from Patagonia to Alaska by tandem, hopefully visiting all the countries in South, Central and North America en route. This means that we are going to cover a distance of more than 45 000 km in three approximately. 3 years time. We have had 2 trial tandem journey prior to our current journey. The first one lead us from Germany through France, the UK, Ireland, Iceland, back to Ireland; and through Wales, England and France back to my home town in Germany (more than 9000 km).
Afterwards we had a second cycling adventure through Europe and the Balkans within we are crossed the Alps twice and cover around 4000 km.
