Rohloff E-14 Solo

The Rohloff "E-14 Solo" is the electronic gear mech for your non-eBike mounted SPEEDHUB 500/14. The perfect combonation for versatile transmission on Gravel bikes, Touring bikes, Commuter Bikes and Cargo bikes.

No App. No Cloud. No Registration.
The E-14 Solo functions independently and ensures a simple, intuitive operation. One press of the button or lever, and the gear shift will be completeley quickly and precisely - even while stationary.

Our tried and tested E-14 Technology ensures riders a dependable and immediate shifting response.

The resulting system is durable, low maintenance and sustainable in the typical Rohloff fashion. And thanks to our complete backward-compatible production ethic, the E-14 SOLO system can be retrofitted to every SPEEDHUB ever produced.

Shift Independently

The Rohloff E-14 Solo concentrates on the necessary: direct, electronic shifting, without the need for an App, a cloud or registration. Simply switch on and ride.

Two shifter variations are available to suit different user requirements:

Flatbar – Rohloff Trigger
Direct and intuitive shifter use for bicycles running common flat handlebars.
One press of a lever is enough to  create a quick and precise gear shift - while stationary or during the riding.

Dropbar – TRP Hywire Brifter
Clean integration for use with dropbars.
This electronic gear mechanism enables use a sporty, ergonomic cockpit, with the renowned Rohloff shift performance.

Faster Shift Process

The Rohloff E-14 Solo combines the direct control of a mechanical gear system, with the  high-speed of modern electronics. Gear shifts are performed quickly and precisely - regardless whether stationary or under load.

A quick press of the lever is enough to shift gears. If the lever is held down though, then the rider enters the "Multishift" mode where multiple gears are shifted until the rider lets go of the lever again. This ensures full rider-control in every riding situation, regadless whether it be stop/go traffic or up in the mountains.

The E-14 gear mechanism funtions especially direct and durable. Whether using the trigger shifter on a flatbar, or TRP Hywire Brifter on a dropbar: The operation remains intuitive and clear - with zero compromizes from complicated menus or excessive features.

Independent System

The Rohloff E-14 Solo uses its own power supply and as such, operates completely independently of any other bicycle transmission. This enables the electronic gear mechanism to be easily integrated into a number of different bicycle-concepts.

The powerful E-14 battery permits longer rides of over 1000km and can be easily re-charged when necessary, via an inline integrated USB-C port. The bicycle can be set-up with ether an internal (typically OEM) seatpost mounted battery, or an external (typically retrofit) bottle cage mounted battery

E-14 Solo is compatible with every SPEEDHUB 500/14 ever built - regardless whether tha uses the narrowest (135mm) or widest (197mm) O.L.D. unit. Use of the E-14 SOLO does not affect the potential to combine the SPEEDHUB with a Gates belt drive primary transmission.

Sustainable Design

The Rohloff E-14 Solo is designed to uphold the ultralong life-expectancy principle typical of Rohloff products. Rather than the SPEEDHUB being a disposable system, the E-14 SOlo is fully backward compatible, ensuring an upgrade is possible to prolong the overall system life-span.

Through this design focus, high-quality bicycles and transmissions can be used longer by technically updateing them to cope with the modern cycling conditions and rider requests. The need to replace components deminishes and this saves resources, extends prodct life-cycles and reduces wear rates.

In typical Rohloff fashion, the E-14 SOLO system remains extremely low maintenance, is durable, and has an incredibly long life-span. The combination with a Rohloff SPEEDHUB creates an overall robust system, ideal for commuter, touring and long distance cyclists.

The E-14 Solo  therefore stands for a differnet style of innovation: Not something to replace the old, but something to extensd use of the existing.
