…well, its nearly time for that big fat red-clothed gentleman to squeeze down our chimneys again bringing joy to all of us children - young AND old. Why O Why though couldn’t a bicycle fit down the chimney – I mean, that would be much more appreciated than the sweets and oranges that are traditionally received. Well, perhaps this is just because we were all too naughty that year and didn’t deserve it, perhaps it’s simply because a bicycle won’t fit. Well, it seems Dahon can help us with one of those issues.

Dahon, one of the global leading brands for folding bicycles, introduced a new stocking-filler at the Taipei show earlier in the year – the MU Rohloff Sport. Yes, that’s right, as of 2014 Dahons ever popular MU model will also be available complete with Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 and Gates Carbondrive belt system.

Dahon has refined its collection of performance bikes to include the new Mu Rohloff Sport model and adapted the frame to suit now featuring the classic Rohloff sliding dropouts. This 20” wheeled folder is packed with just as just as much technology as its larger counterparts. Not only will the classic MU size allow this folder to be taken on the trains and easily be stowed in small spaces aboard boats and caravans but the Carbondrive powered SPEEDHUB also allows this wonder to keep on going with a full low maintenance drive-train making it a very versatile machine indeed.

In addition to the high-tech drivetrain, Dahon have also ensured  the bike would stop properly and duly decide to equip the MU Rohloff Sport with a set of MT6 hydraulic disc brakes from Magura. A fantastic brake which is more than capable of ensuring the lightweight aluminium Dahon stops as well as it goes. The MU Rohloff Sport also incorporates clean, internal cable routing and is finished off with a set of Ergon grips, Dahon’s own performance saddle and super-adjust stem.
