The very first official SPEEDHUB CHAMPIONSHIP starts in 2010 as part of the "Rohloff Mad East Challenge 500" in Altenberg, Germany. The starting pistol will fire for the special Rohloff Class alongside all other participants on Sunday the 6th of June 2010, the third day of the event titled:- "Grand Prix d'Altenberg". The fastest male and female SPEEDHUB riders will be searched for over the 80 kilometer marathon course.

A course has been planned which takes the riders through the forests of the Eastern Erz Mountains and the Czech boarder region around Krupka. The course should deliver a good mix of both technique and condition demanding sections for the participants.

The company Rohloff, together with the event organizers of the "Rohloff Mad East Challenge 500" are offering attractive prizes and generous sums of prize money for this special category/class. It is possible to enter this class regardless of whether you are an amateur or professional cyclist.

In total, 2000€ in prize money is up for grabs for the first place winners of the various age groups. In addition to this, the positions divisible by 11 (11, 22, 33 ...) will win special Rohloff T-shirts, so even the hobby cyclists have a good chance of taking a prize home with them. Different age groups and categories will help to keep the race fair to all levels of ability, young and old and so retain the motivation of achieving a podium position.

Registration starts from the 1st of March 2010 and is possible both over the link on the Rohloff Homepage as well as through the official Internet site of the „Rohloff Mad East Challenge 500“ www.madmission.de.
