Cape Epic: Camp situation and Kings Stage

Diary from André Hauschke

Camp situation and Kings Stage

Udo Bölts and Carsten Bresser, the current leaders of the Masters category, suggested that yesterdays stage was far from having anything to actually do with mountain-biking.

I shared that opinion as I had experienced practically the same conditions exactly a year ago in Chili at an altitude of 5800m!

Höhen-Weltrekord (6085 Meter ü.NN).

Today, (1st of April and the 1st anniversary of my World Record), the Kings Stage takes me over 140km and 2300m Altitude. After last night rain, todays time trials will prove difficult for most riders to hold their times.

I am still continuing on alone as an 'individual rider' and hope to remain in the race until the end - and hopefully to place well with a good time!
