BOOST A12-148mm

The 'standard' A12 SPEEDHUB models are designed with a 148mm O.L.D. for 12mm "Boost" frames. Use of a special 6mm wider driver lock-nut and longer A12 mounting bolt enable 142mm A12 units to fit in the 148mm Boost frame spacing. The rim will need to be laced 3mm offset to the drive side however to remain central within the frame.

PM version

The SPEEDHUB torque will be anchored to the frame via a peg on a specially constructed "PM Bone". The PM Bone is mounted directly to the integrated 160mm/180mm Postmount brake caliper mount of the frame. PM axleplates are available for CC axles (article code CC PM) and A12 axles (article code A12 PM). The A12 PM axleplate version is illustrated mounted to a SPEEDHUB in fig.4 to the right.

Fatbikes & 36er's (190mm/197mm O.L.D.)

SPEEDHUB 500/14 XXL (CC) 190mm units use the same basic hub as the XL versions. The difference lies in the external axle extensions which have developed to specially withstand the flex and torsion that the additional width subjects the axle to. This now permits the use of our trouble-free transmission and even Carbon Drive use (if requested) while retaining the symmetrical wheel lacing that is needed to create a strong wheel. XXL units are only available with the OEM2 torque anchoring option. The dropout itself will then dictate whether a Fatbone or Monkeybone-10 is required.

SPEEDHUB 500/14 XXL (A12) units are designed around a 197mm frame spacing and also use the same basic hub as the XL A12 versions. The hub is secured to the frame using specialls developed and reduction sleeves compatible (at the time of press) with DT, Maxle, Syntace and Shimano 12mm thru-axle frames.

SPEEDHUB XXL versions are only available as disc brake versions, use the OEM2-10 axleplate, have 32 spoke holes and come in a black anodized finish.

The SPEEDHUB 500/14 XXL veresions are not tested or authorized for tandem use!

SPEEDHUB 500/14

The Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 has been developed for both pros and performance oriented hobby cyclists who can appreciate it because of its reliability, perfect single gear ratios, wide range of gears, low maintenance and easy operation; its weight and efficiency are ideal even for pro racing.

The sealed gearbox ensures reliability and durability even under the toughest conditions. The even increments of 13.6% between gears make it possible to ride continuously at peak performance. The overall range makes sure that you always have access to the right gear regardless of situation. Pure fun is guaranteed.

The SPEEDHUB 500/14 is operated by a twist shifter which shifts simply by pulling separate cables up or down. The indexing of the shifting lies not in the shifter as with common designs, but inside the hub. There is no wear on the indexing system nor need to adjust it.

The first part of the model code (CC/TS/A12) refers to the axle type.

All Rohloff SPEEDHUB 500/14 models (excluding XL and XXL units which are offered in black only) are available in a choice of three colors:

A12 Spindle

The A12 is constructed for frames fitted with dropouts which accept 12 thru-axle systems (DT/Maxle, Sysntace, Shimano E-Thru). A12 SPEEDHUB models can only be supplied upon receipt of 3 documents completed during a special dropout measurement procedure. Our distributors or service partners will be able to supply the special A12 measurement kit for this purpose upon request.
