7th Stage: Hard Work Again - Short Before The End

24.07.2010
[Translate to en:] Martin Mootz und Michael Opper

Michael Opper already knew this stage from Transalp 2006, and he remembered well the long, long ascend to the Refugio Orso Bruno short before Madonna di Campiglio. Actually, a Transalp stage with only 47km seems not too bad, but if this distance goes but upwards it looks a bit different.

The race run quiet today. Each team had found its place, no spectacular attacking moments. Both, Michael Opper and Martin Mootz kept their heads calm. Just one hour before finish a hard rain began which drenched the race track, made it muddy and slippery at places. But this evoked only a smile from Michael and he exclaimed rolling over the finishing line: "Splendid, Speedhub-weather! If its getting really technical, it makes even more fun!"  - after 47km in a time of 3:23:55 hours with an average speed of 14km/h (very steep!) and todays result: place 55 stage standings respectively place 47 in the overall standings.
