Schwarzwald Bike Marathon, Germany 2009

Last weekend of September 2009 the Rohloff Team drove to Furtwangen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. In order to come into close, personal contact with the Schwarzwald, the seven bikers of the Rohloff Team travelled down there with their ultimate gear hubs. Eva & Bastel on their MadTandem, Ralf Kropp and Albrecht Hänel, who chose to compete in the 60 km race, Martin Diederichs the 90 km, and Michael Opper started together with Philipp Hoffmann racing the long 120 km course.

 

In the end the MadTandem Team celebrated 1st place in the tandem category, winning a 5 liter Rothaus beer keg. Michael Opper and Philipp Hoffmann gained 9th and 12th place in their age group. Ralf Kropp gained a placed a fantastic second in his age group. Albrecht Hänel and Martin Diederichs finished well under the top 20 ranking of the race.
